Dr. Caroline Coombs is a licensed Naturopathic Physician with a special interest in digestive health, women’s health, skin (acne, eczema, psoriasis), anxiety and depression, detoxification, and chronic inflammatory pain. Dr. Coombs is a professional member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and BC Naturopathic Physicians Association (BCNA). She is board-certified in intravenous therapy and holds prescriptive authority in British Columbia.
Dr. Coombs graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Microbiology from the University of New Brunswick, where she was on the Dean’s list from 2004-2007. While completing her undergraduate degree, Dr. Coombs worked extensively with youth at risk and people living with physical and developmental disabilities. In 2006, Dr. Coombs received the ‘Champions of Inclusion’ award for her work with these populations. Dr. Coombs went on to receive her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in 2013.
Dr. Coombs is a professional public speaker and health educator. She teaches weekly seminars on nutrition for pain management at the integrative pain clinic, ChangePain in Vancouver and has been interviewed on Pain BC’s radio show for her work in this field. Dr. Coombs enjoys speaking to groups all over the lower mainland.
Known for her genuine warmth, Dr. Coombs strives to educate and empower her patients so they can make well informed decisions and exact lasting change in their health. In her practice and educational seminars, she assimilates the latest health research and presents the facts in straightforward terms.
Dr. Coombs is an outdoor enthusiast and in her free time she can often be found chasing her adopted rescue puppy, Ollie, on BC’s beautiful running and hiking trails. She has completed a number of solo multi-day hikes and firmly believes in the healing power of time spent in nature.
